Effective January 1, 2013, the Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association has adopted a policy and criteria on how names will be considered for placement on either the monument or in its database.  This policy takes into consideration the Department of Defense criteria for its National Monuments.

 

The Delaware County Veterans Memorial’s pays tribute to both Delaware County and Newtown Square Soldiers and Veterans. We are honored to engrave their names in the wall of prayers.  All requests should be sent to the Association’s Board of Directors.  Upon receipt the request will be forwarded to the Veteran Committee for review.  Upon completion of the Committee’s review, a notice of its findings will be sent out.  

 

This policy takes into consideration the Department of Defense criteria for its National Monuments.  All requests will be sent to the Association’s Board of Directors and then given to the Veteran Committee for final review.  Upon the completion of the Committee’s review, a notice of its findings will be sent out.  All names prior to January 1, 2013, that are currently part of the Monument, are grandfathered and not subject to review.  Names that are approved will be engraved in the stone and put in the Monument’s database.  When all the available space has been used, names will be put in the database only.  See separate page that lists the criteria and documents necessary for all requests.  Requests not accompanied by the proper documents cannot be considered.  Mail all requests, along with proper documentation including a contact person’s name, address and phone number to the address below.

Veterans who are not eligible for the Wall of Prayers may apply to be included in the "Lest We Forget” program.  This program, currently being developed, is free and designed to honor those Veterans who serve to defend our rights – yesterday, today and tomorrow including those who made the ultimate sacrifice. DCVMA’s Lest We Forget program will honor those from all areas within Delaware County.  The Veteran Names and DCVMA reserves the right to amend the above criteria at any time at its discretion. Effective January 1, 2014, the Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association has adopted a policy and criteria on how names will be considered for placement on either the monument or in its database.
